Below are the cheapest unlimited plans for at least 7 days in every destination we track, next to the cheapest plan with at least 10 GB, so you can see where unlimited costs only a little more. Prices in USD from October 30, 2026, read daily from the provider websites. How we compare
Who sells unlimited data plans
| Provider | Destinations with unlimited plans | Cheapest unlimited for 7 days | Hotspot (provider information) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airalo | 74 of 80 | 21 of 80 | hotspot yes |
| Holafly | 79 of 80 | 3 of 80 | hotspot 500 MB/day |
| Yesim | 79 of 80 | 56 of 80 | hotspot yes |
"Cheapest unlimited for 7 days" counts the destinations where that provider had the lowest price on October 30, 2026. It says nothing about network quality or speed.
What "unlimited" usually means
Unlimited plans are not all the same. Before you buy, read the plan description on the provider's page and look for three things:
- Fair use. Some unlimited plans have a fair-use policy. After a certain amount of data per day, the speed can be reduced until the next day. Whether this applies and from which amount depends on the provider, the plan and the destination.
- Hotspot and tethering. Sharing the connection with a laptop or another phone may be allowed, limited or not allowed on an unlimited plan. Our table shows what the providers state in general, but the rule for a specific plan is in its description.
- Validity. An unlimited plan runs for a fixed number of days, counted from installation or from the first connection to a network, depending on the provider. When the days are over, the plan ends even if you used little data.
Do you need unlimited data?
For many trips, a plan with a fixed amount of data is enough and costs less. Messaging apps, maps, email and booking apps use little data. Photos you send in chats use somewhat more. Video calls, streaming video or music, uploading many photos or videos and using your phone as a hotspot for a laptop use a lot.
Unlimited data makes sense if you work remotely on the trip, stream or make video calls every day, share your connection with others, or simply do not want to keep track. It also makes sense where the difference to a 10 GB plan is small, which our table shows for each destination. If you mainly use maps and messages on a short trip, a smaller plan is usually the cheaper choice.

Frequently asked questions
Is unlimited eSIM data really unlimited?
You can keep using data for the whole validity of the plan, but some plans reduce the speed after a certain daily amount under a fair-use policy. The rules differ by provider, plan and destination. They are listed in the plan description on the provider's website.
Can I use an unlimited eSIM as a hotspot?
It depends on the provider and the plan. Some allow tethering without limits, some limit it and some do not allow it. Check the plan description before you buy if you want to connect a laptop or share data with others.
Is unlimited much more expensive than 10 GB?
Not always. In 73 of the 80 destinations with a weekly unlimited plan, it costs less than twice the cheapest 10 GB plan for the same period. The difference for each destination is in the table above.
Do unlimited eSIMs include calls and a phone number?
Travel eSIMs are usually data only. You keep your own SIM or eSIM in the phone for calls and texts, and can make calls over the internet with apps such as WhatsApp or FaceTime.
